I understand alot of the pictures are of Native-Americans from other tribes, but there simply were not enough descent Cherokee pictures to do the video. Thanks ..Mike ..... Besides, isn't the real name of the song"Indian Reservation"?

I dedicate this to my BFF who died far too early: in 1972 right after graduation from HS. She was half-Cherokee and EXTREMELY proud of her heritage.
She lives on in my heart and memories.

Since I was a child this song has felt so powerful. I'm not native but I feel so strongly for you all. This song is amazing.

This song has been stuck in my head for days. I had to find it and play it. My granny(my mom's mother)was full Cherokee (nothing else). That whole side of my family is. I spent alot of my time, when I was young, with my granny. Learned more about my Cherokee heritage and history from her, than any book ever written (usually by a white man). God(The Great Spirit) rest her soul. And God(The Great Spirit)bless all my Cherokee brothers and sisters.

Everything about this song is great: voice, intro, drums and story itself. Unforgettable.

My Daddy was half Cherokee. And he loved this song! He would go out to his small workshop and work with his very loud radio on. We in the house all knew when this song was playing. As did the rest of the neighborhood. And there was no mistaking my Daddy singing along proudly…”CHEROKEE
We always admired my Daddy’s pride at being Cherokee and he passed that pride on to me. The quantity of Cherokee blood, less than Daddy’s but mine, nonetheless, is something I guard with my whole heart!!!

When I was a child I was afraid to admit to anybody that I was a Native American because they called the Indian Savages. Now I know better and I'm proud to say I'm Native American.
God Bless my Native American brothers and sisters!

Proud Cherokee woman here. I remember dancing around the house with our tiny radio as loud as it would go when this came on.

The 70's had such a phenominal kind of music. So original, so unique, so good! Nothing like the decades before, or any decades after.
This group of bands & singers stand apart from all others, equally as great as the early rock n' roll and so much better than any " rock" or pop since.
And wonderful memories!

Proud Cherokee here--My grandmother went through ALOT of teasing for who she was and it's a rotten shame! People can be so ignorant when they base everything on bloodlines, unfortunately! That should NEVER happen anywhere, especially now in 2023! Ignorance and prejudice never seems to die and it is such a sad reality! Like my Dad says "We all bleed and we're all human (well, let's hope so)." My family began in Appalachia and we are proud to hear this song whenever we do, so we thank you for posting:)

I am proud that Paul and Mark recorded this and it was their only #1 song, it was the right message and a fitting end to their chart run.

I was compelled by this song as a teen; and, my pride has grown; as a part Cherokee, 66 year old woman, today. Honoring Ms. Wilma Mankiller in 2022.

As a Oklahoma resident since age of 10 and a half, proud to have learned the true history of the Cherokee nation and the others. I'm totally ashamed of what my ancestors did.
