These PSUs play an important role, in the times of calamity and emergency. AIR india has done that, banks have done that, we need PSUs for that, they have social responsibility towards the nation and they do it, hence the loss.

If the government run PSU's efficiently, government can earn good profit which eventually comes in the public exchequer. Example, Saudi aramco, Saudi Arabia's state owned company as giant as apple. These investors have earned a lot from PSU's and they know the importance of these companies, that's why they are eager to purchase these companies.

The public sector banks are unnecessarily targetted for losses, whereas, the govt. Writes off, /rebate to the corporates. Again after writing off their loans, govt.give them fresh loans to the same defaulters. The people should come out in the streets against this.

It's not the inefficient of public sector it's a Govt. actions which pull public sectors. BSNL because of Govt. actions should have given the 3g & 4g to BSNL and see LIC which still successful even after so many private players and case of SBI which has highest market share in Housing, Agriculture and MEME portfolio.
Go to HDFC or Axis Bank with a Mudra loan or Rs.10.00 lakh Housing loan application you will know the importance of PSU Mr Junjun.
If Govt. need it can destroy PSU easily these are all the examples

Question is what's purpose of PSU ??? Just earning profit & give money to government.. or social welfare..
If everyone should get equal chance for competition, so why in 4G government prefer JIO & not provided 4G spectrum licence BSNL.
Why in case of renewable sector government prefer only adani not give that much opportunity to PSU..???
If competition committee of India really work properly today such situations never took place with BSNL.

Correct .most things should get privatised but with a tight regulate policies and tight regulation..people who have skills can get job anywhere

The one facing losses should be privatized & they should be separated to multiple companies for ex : four companies one will handle North another one will handle South & etc. This way it benefits us all, but the PSU'S which makes profit should not be privatized.

i agree on some point with rj sir but privateing all psu can be very dangerous in future, rates can go out of hands in specifically in airlines sector which will not be afordable. psu is a back bone of gov and country all well

Why is the government then investing huge sum in BSNL & MTNL and reviving it back in 2024 ?? He might be the big bull of his time but his views on privatisation was wrong!

i mean in INDIA you are saying that why govt. needs to control banks. agar indira gandhi n nationalise nhi kiye hote banks, toh aj jo psbs kaam kr rhe h rural areas tk m, koi krta? demonetization k time p bhi yh saabit ho gaya tha ki public sector banks n pvt, . sector banks m kitna fark hai according to needs of our country.
agar NPA ka poora aaklan nikale jo psbs ka hai, corporates ka 80% npa hai... bs, 1 corporate ka npa poore desh k total kisano k npa sai zyada hoga. tb govt. so rhi thi jb npa krk log london bhaag gaye. ab yh kaam bhi banks ka h kya ki airport m pakde jake... bank ka ceo jaega wha use pakadne ?
