The singer/bassist Tony Lewis died in 2020, guitarist John Spinks died in 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Two amazing musicians.

I know a lot of people say this about other groups, but The Outfield are one of the most underrated bands, ever. Their vocals are superb. Thanks Beth.

A quintessential 80s song. You couldn't cruise anywhere without hearing this song. Brings back so many wonderful memories. Graduated high school in 1989. Best years of my life.

In summer of 87 at 17 years old, I stood outside a bar/club and listened to them perform this song live. They sounded as good live and in the video. Great song!

"Since You've Been Gone", "All the Love(in the World)", "Say It Isn't So" and "Voices of Babylon" are some other great Outfield songs.

Tony always maintained a solid constant vocal range. Sadly, we lost him in 2020. May he rest in peace.

I have 13 Outfield songs in my playlist and was just crushed when Tony passed away. This is widely considered one of the best songs of the 80s period!

I met these guys just days after their first video hit. They came into my restaurant while traveling to their next show and we talked for quite a while. They were so nice to my waitstaff and crew. That night their video premiered on MTV I believe. Always liked this song.

Trust me, it's a banger.

Actually cried when I heard Tony passed. Another voice from my teenage years gone too soon. The amount of songs that I have in my Playlist from The Outfield is immense. Tony still sounded like this in 2020. He sounded sublime live.

I love how Beth reacts not just to Tony's voice, but to the band's music. THAT is what The Outfield was all about in reality. Their music was fantastic and so very underrated. It made one feel good. It was fun and uplifting but they could also be very moody on the slower tracks. Fantastic musicians and very, very missed. RIP Tony and John. Thanks for your music and see you on the flip side!

One of my favourite countertenor voices. So smooth of a sound. The added harmonies were an added enjoyment. RIP Tony, you're voice was one of the most known of the 80s.

I saw them at Six Flags in Atlanta on a promo tour. First time I’ve seen a drummer toss the sticks up, twirling and catch them exactly on note, hitting on the downswing.

Just a great song. The lead singing, backup vocals, guitars, bass, drums. Outstanding.

Tony had a fantastic head voice. He wasn't a chest singer like many of rock's Gods but with the delay effect, his high end vocals were just elevated to the next level.
