As an adult in his 20's now, I kind of understand now that i'm older why i was particular fond of Cardcaptor Sakura when i was younger. Alot of child shows back then tried to be really preachy about friendship and beliefs, although i did prefer the rough antics of DBZ and YuYu Hakusho and the like (i was an aspiring boy with too much free time after all) CC Sakura painted the picture of a simple, honest person, who didn't particularly had ideals they would die for, or bonds that were unfaltering and behemoth. But Sakura simply fought for what she thought was right, and simply tried to stay true to herself. She didn't paint the picture of her preaching ideals, or that fighting for what you believe was right, but it was simply her doing everything in her power to protect the things she felt were important to her, wether it was the world itself or her personal relations. All manly manly shows ever do is show off their convictions, though its not something i'm against, but now i realized why someone like myself who favors Hokuto-no-Ken and DBZ would be so fond of a magical girl show from their childhood. It was clear to me there was something different about this show compared too all the other magical girl shows and sentai groups. It was a show about a person and a character, not ideals and virtues, and to this day i hold CC Sakura in regards to my favorite characters like Kenshin, Goku, and Togashi, even though for most of my life i couldnt understand why until now.

My Japanese wife and I are expecting our first child later early next year, and when we both learned it will be a girl, we both unanimously said "SAKURA". Can't wait to see you Sakura Rae!

Nostalgia hits hard with this one I used to always watch this show with my sister and ended up liking it

What I like about this show is that it shows humanity without commentary. It's not lecturing but simply giving a glimpse of something happening. I also think the adults in the show have an authentic air of mystery to them resembling what children experience in their encounters with the adult world.
It's not without its flaws but those points made it interesting and really worth my time.

Not gonna lie, but I like this opening better by a LOT. The reason is that it fits Sakura’s personality more than the 2nd opening cuz it was less bubbly and happy in my opinion. Overall this had such amazing art style for how long it was made is still awesome!

I'm watching this for the very first time as a 23 year old in the middle of my masters degree, and the absolute sincerity and optimism of this show has made me tear up multiple times. I wish I watched this when I was Sakura's age, but I'm finding that this anime is just what I need to comfort me during a hard time in my life.

"It will definitely be alright!" was something I've desperately needed to hear for a long time. Thank you, Sakura ❤️❤️
