Great tips thanks! You can save glue by feeding the next stick in as the current one is beyond the scope of the trigger. Instead of using a rod or similar just push the next stick in with gentle pressure until the trigger picks it up. Good work!

I've watched many of your reviews and I really appreciate them :) Do you have a video explaining the purpose of different nozzles and if they are even worth it.

Thank you for the tips. I'm using hot glue to make cylinders of cardboard to give my camera lens pouches a rigid structure so they don't collapse when I put my lenses into them in my camera bag (they're floppy otherwise and the slows me down when I need to change lenses). To anyone doing something similar, I recommend making numerous frequent folds in the cardboard before you glue it so it forms a rounder curve when glued together.

I think maybe a clothing iiron could be used to remelt the hot glue between the 2 piece of cardboard? Maybe somehow using aluminium foil in the process?

As my glue gun has to settings to low and height temp but I suppose it is high temp it self, there is too much glue dripping from it, sometimes it won’t let me to glue small things with out getting extra glue drips. For my experience I used to lay the hot glue gun to a silicone surface and then the the huge drips dry, I put them in the glue gun passage so no glue gets wasted.
But I suppose I should consider buying hot temp glue sticks so it would be less fuss.

So to glue foam board, could you use the low temp to create a base on both pieces you want to connect, let it cool, then use the high temp on top of those bases to connect the pieces? Because of the low cost and versatility, I have tried to use hot glue with cardboard and foam board a few times for crafts (mostly diy storage and cat furniture). But, I have trouble getting the pieces to stay together for more than a few hours or days. Low temp glue sticks definitely don't work. High temp sticks surprisingly don't work either (now I understand why - thanks to you). Regular glue takes forever to dry. That's how I found your channel. 🙂 I'm trying to figure out what brand of hot glue works for cardboard and foam board and how to make it work.

Also, great video! I subscribed to your channel because this was very useful information.

I have a problem getting a consistent line and not bumps in my line

it can be useful when the glue is on the low setting, where the glue is less runny and more formable, along with the lower temperature, but not really helpful on the high setting
