Other possible habitable planets are not hundreds of light-years away - Gliese 581 has three in habitable zone at distance of 20 light-years, Gliese 667 has one at a distance of 22 light-years.

No one from earth is going to colonize another planet, not even in 1000 years.

I just did the calculation and if you were to travel there using a spacecraft such as New Horizons which travels at roughly 10 miles per second it would take 260, 801 years to reach a planet 14 light years away. So yeah we need to find a way to go faster, much faster.

It has a orbit that is less than half of Earth's so that means it's close to it's star. Too hot to be habitable for human life. Most of these 'Earthlike' planets that they are finding are nothing like Earth, they are either too hot or frozen rocks.

It could be possible to go there. It has been said that sometimes there are portals in space, loops that if you go through them could take you far distances in far less time. If you folded a piece of paper you could be on the top half and then zoom through the portal and be on the bottom (which by theory the universe could be just as round as this earth.) It's just if they will take the measures to discover these loops and find them.
