I've been to Bonaire 5 times & its a paradise even though its getting more commercialized. The Cargill salt mines & slave huts are a reminder of the past!! Bonaire is considered the #1 diving destination in the world.

I was born and raised on bonaire and it's wild seeing a video on BBC earth about our beautiful little island. Just a lil info for you all. These slavehuts are really small. I am 5ft7 and you can barely stand up straight in those huts. Imagine 20 slaves crammed ontop of each other. Our ancestors went through it and survived. I felt proud after seeing this vid. It just reminded me of bonaire's history. Btw we eat iguanas over there so king Kong and dinosaurs ain't got nothing on us 😂😂😂
