Some people don't seem to realise at times how wise and intelligent many comics are! Lee Mack has a pretty zany personae but in a contrast to that side of him is a grounded, sensible guy with no real pretensions. I know what he states at the end may seem to be off-putting to any aspiring comics but all he's doing is telling it how it most likely is. No point is sugar coating it. He's encouraging and being pragmatic at the same time.

Very interesting comment correlating insecurity with comedians. Understand some people use humour in order to be accepted, validated but I never thought that applied to professional comedians.

I think you do have to be fairly naturally quick witted, have a creative imagination and a good memory. All of which I don't have! As a side not this gave me a new respect for whoever does the makeup & lighting on WILTY. They make everyone look great on that show! No offence to Lee ofc

As a stand up he is pretty average but where he excels is in Not Going Out comedy with his excellent pseudo laddish one liners.

how original is that JOHN SMITH well that is not funny for a start, this man like all the other "observational comics" are just that, they refuse to tell a "joke" they just ridicule people who are weak, bring back the mother in law jokes any time at least they had a punch line
