Is this Britain’s most haunted Castle? Chillingham Castle, in the village of Chillingham, in Northumberland has an extensive history.

It has played host to several monarchs. It’s been used as a staging post for English forces and was besieged by the Scots and others.

Over the years it has been the site of some gruesome torture and numerous executions, and claims to be the most haunted castle in Britain…

Story of my visit
So me and my dad whent to check out the shop there and its just near the court yard. The shop had really heavy castle doors that not even i could close(i was 11)there was no one in there not even the worker and the heavy castle doors sut on there own . The room whent cold. A hand places its self on my shoulder . Me and my dad did not look back we ran for the nearest exit.

Chillingham castle is really close to where I live, there are one of the last wild cattle in the area, and the skull of an Irish elk with enormous antlers on the wall of the coffee room and even sequoia trees that are about 1 meter in diameter in the trunk which are just awe inspiring, its an amazing place but Its getting a little expensive to visit in recent times.

I went here. I was in the dungeon and the worst headache I've ever had started. I went outside for air and the headache disappeared. I'm a non beleiver in paranormal but this was so strange. ❤️✌️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

I saw a ghost one! It was night and I was in the middle of a grave yard, it was dark and I could see the ceiloate of an old man walk on a path with the street lights far behind him ! I turn to say something with the kid’s that were their with me and when I looked back the dark ceiloate of the man was gone ?

Not great...found it very disappointing when the tour guid told me that not one thing in there is from Chillingham Castle and its things that have been collected from other places. Basically its a storage place for a collector. Came away with feeling of visiting someone's storage lock up. Even the torture stuff has never been used and is all from another place entirely. Chillingham Castle was completely empty and derelicted before it was bought. A fake ghost story or two brings the costumes in though $ £ $ £
