Fury as Prince Philip ‘affair’ to be featured in Season 5 of The Crown

Netflix’s The Crown is to show Prince Philip ­pursuing an affair with close friend Penny Knatchbull.

Royal experts have spoken out saying that showing the alleged romance between Philip and Penny was cruel so soon after the Queen was laid to rest next to her husband.

Netflix considered waiting to release the fifth series, but it will go ahead with the premiere on 9th November.

Our panel discuss whether the fictional show has been “exploiting” the royals and their position.

"Fury"... love me a good tabloid headline. Who's "furious"? why does no one ever directly quote the source of this "fury"? Two people on Twitter? One person in the studio is mildly irritated? The panel looking for a story?

The Crown is a trashy mainly fictional account of the Royal family so I am not surprised sadly, some viewers take it as fact. I call it trash on steroids.

Think it’s completely disrespectful to the late HM the Queen and the Royal Family but there again Netflix have shown time and time again they have no morals, this is why they are losing subscribers left, right and centre!

The Queen lived a century. Whatever good she done, she lived in luxury the likes of which we can't imagine and had the best of everything. We shouldn't feel bad about showing the reality of her life because she is dead.

People wouldn't give a second thought if it was a PM or President of a country and they work harder and deal with extreme stress.
