Pin this comment, for those not seeing the edit tab for any of the surfaces: Go to: Logic Pro x>Preferences>Advanced>make sure "Control Surfaces" box is checked! This will allow you to EDIT the functionality of surfaces :D

Great video, this was very helpful thanks a bunch! However, I cannot figure out how to get the Left, Right, Up and Down arrows to function with this setup. I want to be able to use them to go to the next track in the project or at least be able to change patches. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

doesn't work.. i've connected the keyboard via usb (it lights so it's connected) but then when I try to select the Output Port/Input Port it doesn't do anything, doesn't propose me any sources at all

It’s a bit more complicated than this. You gotta go to preferences>advanced and then do like a thousand more tweaks and shit for it to work. But having said that, at some point I sort of found this helpful.

Hi I'm using your method here with a keystation 49, I've selected Mackie control but on my output I only see port 1, and for my input I only see port 1 and port 2. In your video your keystation showed up in place of whats on my screen. Any idea why it doesn't show up for me?
I'm using logic pro 10.0.7, and I'm on Mac OS HighSierra 10.13.2.
