FDNY EMS Academy Class Family Day

On Saturday, January 21, the Department welcomed the families of the current Probationary #FDNY EMT class to the EMS Academy at Fort Totten for Family Day. Probationary EMT’s were able to show their families the skills they have learned and equipment they use. Members from the class also presented a memorial guidon flag to the members of Station 49 in memory of Captain Alison Russo who made the Supreme Sacrifice on September 29, 2022. Guidon flags are carried by each squad throughout the course of their time at the Academy. It is a symbol of pride and they are always treated with a high level of respect by the Probationary EMTs in each squad.
