The Death of a Seagull Extra 300S

This was literally only my third flight with this plane. I picked this plane up used, this past summer. It had servos installed, but nothing else. I was running a Saito FA-91. The servos were all nicer JR servos. I don't think it had been flown much prior to me picking it up. I was running a Lemon DSMX 6 channel with a satellite powered by a 5 cell NimH battery. I am really not sure what went wrong except that I had no control at all when it went in. I had just charged the battery, and it still had 6.5 volts in it when I picked up the pieces.... At the crash sight, I had control again. I know it wasn't signal loss either, since I had bound the fail-safe to cut the throttle, and I had tested that it functioned. I know it didn't stall either since I was above half throttle at the time, and was making a fairly wide turn. You can hear the engine didn't change sound until impact, but you can hear my transmitter beep as I cut the throttle. I am using a Spektrum DX6 transmitter. It stripped both aileron servos and trashed the engine. I am the most disappointed about the engine. I really bought it just for the engine, it was broken in, and that was it. Now it's just broken... On impact, the exhaust header came out of the cylinder, bringing a piece of the cylinder with it.
