Marketed as a personal computer with enhanced video and sound that is easy to use, the Tandy 1000 SL and later the Tandy 1000 SL/2 were the successor to the Tandy 1000 SX with a redesigned case style also seen in the Tandy 1000 TL series.

The Tandy 1000 SL featured an 8086 CPU running at 8/4 MHz Switchable, 384K of RAM upgradable to 640K, a 5.25 inch 360K floppy drive and onboard CGA/TGA/Hercules graphics.

The Tandy 1000 SL/2 was upgraded to include 512K of RAM, a 3.5 inch 720K floppy drive

Both systems included MS-DOS and Tandy Deskmate built into ROM, so new owners could start using their computers right away.

Come join us as we see if these awesome old PCs power on for the first time.

Lost my Tandy TL/2 years ago due to a move. So I am very much looking forward to the new vids on these SL's.
Shout out to VWestlife, I'm a fan and enjoy your old computer vids too. Thumbs up to you both !!

On the 1000SL, type C: to switch to the internal ROM drive and then type DESK. That will start up the version of DeskMate that is built-in, although most of the programs in it won't run without the DeskMate program disks.

0:50, 1:33 - A three-second boot into DOS and a 4-second boot into DeskMate . Windows can suck it. 😛
1:40 - The OS is in the EEPROM. 😉 That would never work these days with all the bloat of Windows -10- Ads. ¬_¬ Yes, I definitely wanted Candy Crush Saga and some kingdom-something game with my OS. 😒

Ok I watched two your vids they are well made and you can see how much work you put into it, good work apart from them being short there's one big issue you need to fix remember to look into the camera you are speaking to! It looks like you are trying to hide from your viewers.
