The Breton Woods agreement at the close of WWII started all of this. The USA came to the aid of the European nations ravaged by the war. We bought from them and paid tariffs and helped rebuild their countries. It served it’s purpose at the time. That time is over. The Pandemic has shown us how dependent the USA is on foreign goods, materials and parts. It is true that the USA businesses have been at a disadvantage for a long time yet many overcome it. Time to change. Time for a fresh even playing field. It is time for a reset. Trump has the courage and resolve to speak what others have whispered for a long time. He simply doesn’t care what others think because he is in it for our country not himself, unlike the vast majority of elected leaders.
