Jimmy Carter lived 100 years, you can debate if the 4 years as president were affective but what can't be debated is his legacy as a man.
Jimmy Carter was a religious man who lived what he believed. His work for the needy and poor was fantastic.

He may not have been one of the best Presidents, but i still admire his visionary thinking about the environment, climate change, conservation, human rights, peacemaker, integrity in office and out of office.

One of our ethical best and..most modest...but he was not a good politician. Even afterwards when he did good on his own on the international stage he messed things up and crosswired US foreign policy on occasion by making deals with nations and speaking on the phone with dictators and ambassadors. They threatened him with the Logan Act at one point.

He was a mostly ineffective President. And, it is with good reason he was largely ineffective: he was honest. To be effective in that office, you truly need to be shady. President Carter wasnt any of that. Having said this and with conviction, he is the one President I'd desire to be more like personaly. He was too good of a man for the office of President.
