I got this book as a gift and I read this to my 5 year old daughter, Brenda. She loved it but afterwards told me she wanted a big hairy beaver. I said she'd have to wait till she gets older and she cried "I want a big hairy beaver NOW" for hours afterwards. Even when I take her shopping she screams out "I want a big hairy beaver!" It's so embarrassing. Can you even buy beavers as pets?

Dear Sir---I had a FOURTH GRADER give me this title as an example of alliteration in class today. I had to think quick of an excuse not to write it on the board like I had done with the previous answers. I didn't want to have to explain that her title was also an example of a different literary device--double entendre. Life of a teacher. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! 🤣🤣🙀🙀💀💀

Didn't know that beavers can be pets, and there's a small yet dedicated community about taking care of them. How sweet.

Too bad beavers need to gnaw on something so as to prevent their teeth from growing too long, which means it's going to rack up maintenance cost in the long run.
