To beat City, we needed that type of win that really really hurts them. A sucker punch 🥊 type of win that frustrates them and works them up.

We did much more than that. Our forward passing and possession was much more fluid and productive. We created the most clear cut chances and unfortunately missed them. It happens.

The way we hunted an equalizer was wonderful to see! We never doubted our abilities, or felt like we were being dominated; actually we dominated the last 20 minutes and played as a team refusing to accept the outcome.

They wanted to defend the 1 nil, and we bullied them until the equalizer. Afterwards we took the penalties with supreme confidence. Very very sweet win the 4:1 win. They failed to match us in the time given.

COYG! This was about a statement to City and to our players and fans; City did not run away with the league last season, WE DROPPED PFF DUE TO WORKLOAD; they didn’t open a gap on us, we lacked quality from the bench. Today it’s our bench that comes in and overran and outplayed them!
