DIY Lumber Mill Chain Lift Mechanism

This video demonstrates how I designed the roller chain lift mechanism for my lumber mill. I'm using #40 roller chain from Princess Auto, a 24V mobility scooter motor, a DC voltage converter and some #40 sprockets also from Princess Auto.

if you add a time delay relay to the lift motor, the same switch could be used to activate the brake and the motor. The delay relay would allow the brake to release a split second before the motor starts. The delay is adjustable.

Do you also get a pull down force with this mechanism? Asking for a mini project
