Your face when you realized what this was about - priceless! You're so good at this and really give heart to songs we grew up with, but are now reliving our own first time hearing it through you. Thanks for yet another fantastic reaction!

Steve Miller Band dropped a trio of monster hits in 1976 -- "Fly Like an Eagle", "Take the Money and Run", "Rock'n Me" -- that more or less ruled FM rock radio for the rest of the seventies. I was still a kid but I remember always hearing this on the radio well into 1977. Classic! PS. The 1972 film "The Getaway", starring Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw, complements this song well!

The clapping sound is a nod to the old tune “deep in the heart of texas”.

The Steve Miller Band had a lot of great hits in the 70's-80's such as "Gangster Of Love", "Space Cowboy", "Fly Like An Eagle", "Rock'n Me", "Jet Airliner", "Jungle Love", "The Joker", "Abracadabra", "Swingtown", "Dance, Dance, Dance" & many more.

Love me some Steve Miller Band anytime. The clapping bit is from an old singalong song called "Deep In The Heart Of Texas:, with the line "The stars at night are big and bright, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, deep in the heart of Texas", one of Steve Miller's homes. Also noted by EC below.

Haven’t been on YT in a while. So nice to see you again! 💜
Edit: Loved that look you got when you started to realize what this song was about. 😈

I love the Steve Miller Band. Great song! Check out Rock’n Me, my favorite of theirs.

The Steve Miller Band, in my opinion, is the most underrated band of the '70s.
I absolutely love their music!

The problem was, there was so much good music coming from every direction during this time that a lot of bands got overlooked. Unfortunately, the Steve Miller Band is one of them.

I've been watching you & a couple of others who do "the reactions." I'm older but I love watching you guys. IM A HUGE CINDERELLA & TOM KEIFER DIE HARD (30-35 years)! And I will be sending some request for him & them! BUT... PLEASE, Listen to The Jeff Healy Band- Angel Eyes. He seemED... like such a deep soul. He died really young and was also blind. Smh.
I will keep watching & sending you some great music! All music is another's story. It's feelings & emotions written with such tones & melodies breaking through, that brings the once a story to LIFE! MUSIC is MAGIC. And the magic can touch us all.
(Yes, it would be my pleasure to let #TomKeifer touch me! Omg! Wow woo! Lol.) There's a song by my man, #TomKeifer/#Cinderella, that is just a lil SPICY! "Once around the ride, " try that one out! 😊 I will stop by again. Keep Smiling!

Doesn't say the guy died. Just was shot

It says he shot a man.. didn't necessarily kill him 🤔

And the song never mentions if the man died that Billy Joe shot?
