The March edition of NEW ON NAXOS highlights the second instalment of Peter Breiner’s calm romantic piano music, entitled A Journey. Performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Breiner again remarkably fuses melodic beauty with genuine musical expression in these world premiere recordings, featuring original compositions intertwined with arrangements of works by J.S. Bach, Dvořák, Fauré, Handel, Haydn and Tchaikovsky. As one of the world’s most performed and acclaimed composer/arrangers, Breiner is hailed for such releases as Beatles Go Baroque (8.555010), Slovak Dances, Naughty and Sad (8.574184-85) and the Complete National Anthems of the World (8.201002).
Other highlights include: the world premiere production of Chaya Czernowin’s opera Heart Chamber, staged by Claus Guth for Deutsche Oper Berlin; world premiere recordings of John Abraham Fisher’s Symphonies presented by the Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice under Michael Halász; Antonín Dvořák’s chamber music including String Quartet No. 4, performed by the Fine Arts Quartet; History of the Russian Piano Trio, Vol. 3 featuring the award-winning The Brahms Trio; and many more.
