Kool & The Gang Rock Hall 2024 Hits Medley Performance

Chuck D inducted Kool & the Gang into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on October 19, 2024, saying “This is a long-due celebration.” The funk soul band had 12 Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 including the 1980 chart-topper “Celebration” as well as “Cherish,” “Get Down On It,” “Jungle Boogie,” “Ladies Night” and “Joanna.” They’ve been eligible for the hall since 1994.

The Roots, featuring Questlove on drums, helped the band do a medley of hits (Hollywood Swinging) during the Induction Ceremony that got the Rock Hall crowd grooving — led by Robert “Kool” Bell — bass guitarist, co-founder and last original member — and longtime singer James “JT” Taylor. Confetti shot into the arena and Taylor asked the crowd to use their cellphone lights as he read off the names of 10 members who were critical to the band's success. Source: MyFox28

This is a Beautiful thing, J.T came back to perform, He is the voice of Kool & the Gang! He's the original singer of all their Hits, and he still has his voice, he's 55% of Kool & the Gang, and I'm being very modest by saying that! A lot of original members have passed but it's great to see Kool and James T. Taylor on stage together again, after so many years, performing their Hits again. These were good times man! 🎼
