Her data were key in nailing down the specific twist of 34 A. Franklin was disadvantaged in that she was a woman in a predominantly man's discipline, so she was excluded from much of the open collaboration going on around her.
Finally, her lack of awareness of the dangers of her discipline likely lead to her premature death.
