World Hand Hygiene Day 2022 - Debunking Handwashing Myths

Each year on May 5, the global community commemorates World Hand Hygiene Day. On this day it is important to remember that good hand hygiene results in better infection prevention and control (IPC) in all workplaces, but also especially in healthcare settings. This year's theme is focused on recognizing that we can add to a facility's climate or culture of safety and quality through cleaning our hands but also that a strong quality and safety culture will encourage people to clean hands at the right times and with the right products.

In commemoration of the day, the NIOH Immunology & Microbiology Section has created this video debunking hand-washing myths.
