To those who don't know, he is a friar, a Franciscan. Their primary mission is to live a life of poverty and serve others. That's why his habit is torn. They don't use air conditioning during the NYC summers, sleep on the floor, and don't use cell phones, but they still live a life in full service to our Lord.

I’ve been struggling greatly with Thyroid Cancer for 17 months. Though it’s a type of cancer with wonderful treatment options, I was extra blessed with having an AGGRESSIVE type (BRAF mutation and graves) AND my cancer had metastasized.
I had my fight cut in. It was okay because I saw every step of the way God’s grace upon me.
17 months and my tsh just wouldn’t come down to an acceptable level 0.1 - 0.5 for my type of cancer. My numbers were always at 1.8 or higher. I had blood labs monthly. Med changes and aggressive treatment. Nothing helped.
I attended the blessing of throats (St Blaise) at St Edward the Confessor Parish in Phoenix AZ. Faith in my heart.
Within an hour of my throat being blessed by Father Passo, I went to Banner Phoenix for my monthly labs. Paperwork shows the time was just one hour after the blessing. The results came in later that day. For the first time ever, my tsh was not only lower but at an IDEAL range. I was 0.3. My cancer marker is almost NON EXISTENT. GOD is extraordinary.

When you understand that the people who have hurt you in any sort of way, are people that actually deep down are hurt even worst than you, that they carry so many wounds, many of them very deep ones, then you realize, of course among other important reasons, why Jesus tells us to pray for those who have hurt you and love them. Of course this doesn’t mean that you have to become a doormat. This is just so you can understand that by forgiving the people who have done any harm to you, by praying for them (which is the purest form of love), even if you have to establish boundaries, you’re helping them to grow and become a better person.

One thing I was thinking about the other day is what the next big podcast theme could be.

Mass In A Year.

If that’s possible, the podcast could focus on the Mass rites, including:
• analyzing each prayer and the scripture behind the prayers;
• have a section discussing transubstantiation/Blessing of the Eucharist; and
• maybe have a section on how the laity can take part in the Mass, including alter servers, Eucharistic ministers, etc.

One cannot forgive from himslef especialy if the hurt is big, we need to ask this from Jesus and he will grant us the grace of forgiveness
