Help!! We need some lightweight travel seats for an upcoming trip! 2 hour flight with 2 hour drive. I love this seat for our (will be) 1 year old, but our 3 year old will be too tall! Any other lightweight seats that still work rear facing??

I have this seat for our backup seat in my husband’s truck. I always had a really difficult time installing it right rear facing. It always seemed too loose although it technically met the requirement of not moving more than an inch when you do the handshake at the belt path. I felt much more confident in my install once we switched to forward facing. Is that just due to it being such a lightweight seat?

I have it, but am using it facing forward. It’s it not as safe?
