How to Recover Dji Mavic Air battery

preview_player
Показать описание
Start from the simplest way, stepwise recover a locked Mavic Air battery due to prolong storage.
We don't need to fully disassemble the battery, just open the top cover to expose the electrodes of the cells. Basic soldering technique will be required.

Extra hardware:
CP2112 board will be needed to unseal the battery.

Extra software:
DJI battery killer, that use with the CP2112

after not using my dron for over 2 years. my 2 batteries where not responding, nor charging. today I got the CP2112 board. last night I opened my first battery and charged to 12.5v 300ma. and this morning the second one. I then tried deleting the flags but was not able as the video describe I jumped the battery cell to the + side of the package. connected to the dron using the USB and was able to update the firmware on both, then able to delete the flags. now I am charging. great to have found this article. saved over 5000 Mexican Pesos on 2 batteries

Wish I had known this was possible last year. Thanks for the time and effort. 👍

Thanks for making the video, worked for me. One cell was down to 0.6v !!! but after connecting to a charger and getting the pack up to about 3.5v per cell, I was able to unseal and then finish off on the original charger. I found it was not too difficult to open the battery case.

THX for this great Video, you're the man. One of my Mavic Air Batteries was totally dead, no loading no signs of life.
I ordered the CP2112 Board, but it couldn't communicate with the battery, but a working one did.
So I opened up th eBattery, one cell had 2, 2V the other two 3, 2V. So I loaded it wth a 12V and 200mA, till it arrives around 12V.
After that the CP2112 recognized the Battery and I could do the work with the DJI Battery Killer.
After that I could load the Battery at the charger and now it is fully loaded.

Great tutorial. Thanks. As mentioned in comments, I opened the battery case easily and it kept the whole thing as new once closed back. My batteries were dead low. I had to charge them for a long time (I went ended up charging up to 12.5v to be able to do the soft update. I did the soft update with the DJI GO 4 app instead of DJI Assistant. That unlocked my batteries as well as unsealed them at once. I still went through the DJI Battery killer process at the end to be sure. Now all 3 are all good as new. You rock DSJay!!!

Greetings from Toronto. All I can say is - Thank you! Very clear step by step instructions. I was able to resurrect my dead Mavic Air battery. I had to use that DJI Assistant-2 to (re)load the firmware, though. But, worked - in the end.

Thank you I will tray this, I am waiting for the CP2112, I was able to open the case with a thin screw driver, there are 3 clips on each long side and 2 on each short side

thank for the video fixed all batteries, but the casings come apart easy no need to drill

From what I understood, the BMS disconnects the positive source from the connector to essentially "seal" the battery pack. Bypassing the BMS, and connecting the positive source directly to the connector powers up the drone, and allowing the BMS to be unsealed by the drone. I wonder if this technique works on all DJI's battery packs and drones. This can probably allow you to replace the cells, and reactivate the BMS.

This worked perfectly for me - thanks for the instructions.
The casing can be separated fairly easily, though, without drilling into the top!

You don't need to Dremel and hack at the battery case, it comes apart quite easily with a small plastic wedge or gently with a blade in the corner to get it started.

Couldn't get the batteries to charge beyond 12V with my power supply, so the killer couldn't read the info and I wasn't able to force update, so I decided to try and read *while* the external power was still connected, and hey it worked. Thanks for helping me save $200 👊

it works like a charm for my battery. Thank you mister...
i did not drill the battery cover. i just removed it by releasing clips on the up side.
using the software failed at unsealing step. so I charged the battery using the same charger. however the charger stopped at 11.38V.
it was enough to connect the battery to CP2112 board and do unseal and clear PFs.
I recharged the battery using dji charger and tested all cells. measures show 4.35V for every cell. I don't know why.
Now it's up to mount the battery on the drone and do some stress test before a flight.
😄😄😄

Thanks for the video. I finally received my CP2112 but the only battery killer software I could find won't open on my PC. Any guidance or alternate sources would be much appreciated. Cheers

I have the same drone batteries and i just used a small thin plastic pry bar and got the battery packageing apart without having to drill.

Superb video, and DJI really rip you a hole with these small batteries costing $140 in Australia, a decent power tool battery 4 x the size is cheaper than that!

I'm getting my battery to 12v and forcing the firmware update. Each time I try it's gets to 99% and then it says error, battery must be more than 50% charged. How do you get around this problem? How long do you guys find it takes to charge the battery with the low charge .5A current? Thanks.
