I fed an old very wet and miserable crow that had crossed the street as I approached. He just looked so grumpy, I said "Hey" and he stopped and looked at me and then hopped onto the sidewalk and stopped next to me. I found some oat and berry bars and kneeled next to him and feed him. Then I looked up and saw three or four other crows perched on bicycles. They were just quietly watching. It was a lovely interaction. Then one day I was walking the same way and a crow just zoomed by me at eye level and perched. And one amazing day a crow was cawing and flapping at my open bedroom window in my 6th floor apartment. I peeked out and I saw my cat chilling in the sun, inches from the ledge where he could've fallen off or be attacked by local seagulls. There were several other crows hopping and chattering on the ledge like they were protecting him. I coached my cat to under the window and pulled him inside. Then they all flew off. Was a surreal and magical moment.

That "I like you" was the calmest way of saying "I am madly in love with you, please be my best friend" Ive ever seen. So much emotion visible at that moment.

My dad was in the marines in the late fifties/early sixties in Holland. His group befriended a crow, and they took joyful pictures together. When the crow had died they gave it a official burial with pallbearers in uniform

Crows are so funny… we have 2 large pecan trees on our farm and we had a family of crows that lived there… we had a baby fall out of its nest and my brothers and I helped it out, feeding him and making sure he was safe to be returned to his crow friends when he was old enough and able to fly… when we released him, several crows were there in the trees waiting for him… they came down and circled around him like they were welcoming him back home! From then on out, any time we would go outside to the pecan trees, that little guy (who grew into a BIG GUY) would come down and sit on our shoulders… we would feed him and then others would come down to get a share too… we had a family of about 10 crows that lived in those two giant pecan trees… it was a very sad day when we found him laying under the trees, having passed away… we buried him there under those trees and to this day, the crows that live in those trees will fly down and accept food from our hands if we go outside there… every time I visit the farm, a couple will land on the roof of our car and i always have a handful of nuts and seeds for them to take… I’m 53 years old now and I was only 12 when we rescued that little crow we called Poe… it’s been 41 years and those crows are mostly descendants of Poe's family… they do remember people and i think they pass on who they know to their offspring…. Those crows only come down for me and my brothers and sometimes my mum and dad… they never come down for anyone else… they are amazing creatures!

They bring you shining things like dimes or other stuff to trade it for food. Got a park behind my building and for the last 2 years, everytime i went for a walk with the dog, i threw some nuts behind me so the crows would follow, now they are coming up, sit close to me or even on me. They sometimes bring me some gifts, sometimes its coins, sometimes stones. Its fun to have some companions when on a walk. Its a sweet little interaction and more people could enjoy such a moment.

I miss my crow to this day. I got him out of a nest that had to be removed from a chimney and he was this tiny pink little thing i had to feed every three hours. He was half the size of his siblings, and didn't have all his feathers. He wouldn't have made it in the wild, he never learned to fly but he could only fly a few meters at best. He was crazy about me. In the morning if I came to his cage he'd press against the bars just to get close to me faster. He'd perch on my shoulder most of the time. I was crushed when i found his cage open and found him on the road. I think he managed to open it himself and went looking for me. Still makes me cry even 40 years later .. He was such a loving little thing.
