Both very formidable anti-ship missiles. I'd give the edge to the Harpoon for it's fragmentation and penetrator warhead designed to breach watertight compartments. It can also be fired from an F-16 so the range is in addition to that of the aircraft.

i can't understand how harpoon could be used. 100 km of range is really short. If it will be lounched by plane, at that distance an enemy ship could easly intercept or find the plane ( like the p-8) it could propably be used effectively only by stealth fighter like f-35. If it will be lounched by ship, it means that ship need to navigate near the enemy ship at less than 100 km, and that means the enemy ship securely find the ship by its radar, becouse new radar could find object over than 200 km away. Finally if it will be launched by a sub marine even at short range like 80-90 km it means that the sub position will be spawned becouse of the high noise of the missile launched by the tube. So how it could be used? Until now i can only consider tomahawk missle a good candidate as a good asm by its range over than 1000 km. Tomahawk could be launched very far by ship and guided by spy plane or satellite or other sub near enemy ships, or stealth fighter, and at the end of the run it could use is radar identification seeker. Until now tomahawk has also a similar speed as the harpoon, so why harpoon is could be used rather than new cruise missile?
