Who and why created fluorescent rabbit? #facts #art #animals

In 2000, a contemporary artist Eduardo Kac, in collaboration with French geneticist Louis-Marie Houdebine, created a genetically modified rabbit called Alba, which could literally "glow". To do this, they used GFP gene from jellyfish, which fluoresces green when exposed to blue light. Kac claimed that Alba was an artistic work, a piece of a new "Bio Art", which caused a global scandal because of its controversy.
