It's crazy how some parents can say the most soul crushing things to their kids but when the kid defends themself the parents are the victim! (I've never experienced this myself but this is my opinion based on what i've seen others say)

I relate to this too much, I’ve never really met my father since he left my mother when I was 2 and a half months old, but from what I've heard, he was probably one of the worst to deal with. I have a younger brother (half-brother genetically, but I still see him as my own brother entirely) who’s father physically abused me and my mother, he's also one of the worst (he’s dead now and I don’t mind sharing his name for that reason, Joshua Lucius, fortunately he wasn’t around when my little brother was brought into the world so he didn’t have to experience any abuse, but yeah, the abuse I experience is probably my earliest memories, as far as I’m aware, anyways..), and my little brother has episodes of extreme rage at times and I'll typically have to step in to calm him down. My little sister, (half sister, but I see her in the same way as I see my little brother, a complete sibling), her biological father was the least bad out of the three, and she turned out the least fucked up outta us three in terms of her personality.

What exactly am I getting at? Well, I and my siblings look almost exactly identical, hell, my band director happened upon my mom while she was at the playground with my little sister, waiting to pick me up, and he called her a 'mini-[Insert my name].' So, it’s clear we got our looks from our mother, she even says she’s glad we didn’t turn out to look like our fathers. But, our personalities are extremely different, so I can’t help but wonder if.. Maybe we inherited our personalities from our fathers? I also know that I inherited ADHD from my mom, and Bipolar Disorder from my dad.
