Thank you very much for this educational opportunity. My husband started with lost smell, cognitive symptoms, 6 years ago right hand shook a bit on steering wheel (when stressed out), logical thinking was disappearing. All this was creeping slowly sliding down. He refused to see a doctor until I made him. He is 88 years old, very intelligent educated man is so hard to see him decline. Looking back I see the symptoms appeared years ago but I didn't know that. I put my foot down and now he visits Geriatrician, Memory Clinic, neurologist, psychiatrist like you advised. Intuitively I knew he needed it.
I read a lot about dementia I want to understand.

I thought the presentation was very well put together and I liked how you separated the two different dementia's Michael.
It is very confusing to tease out the "Do I have Parkinson's first or did it come after my dementia symptoms"? 😳🥴
I agree whole heartedly and whole souled that you definitely need a team! For me I had to add in my Orthopedics Surgeon lol not only do I have a rotator cuff repair going on but now have a fractured pelvis 🤪 ( Osteoporosis) didn't know.
I hope you continue to shed light on the dementia aspects. There's should be a cheat sheet for the common people in layman's terms 😊

Would like to hear more about the olfactory hallucinations vs other types of hallucinations. What are the prevalence differences between the types of hallucinations in LBD. Can hallucinations occur in PD?

Are you located in the USA? because to qualify for hospice you have to be end of life and we graduate people from hospice all the time. You are referring to palliative care.

I'm preparing for my third year pharmacy exams in the UK and though pharmacological treatments for these two types of dementia are similar, I'm trying to understand how to diagnose one from the other when presented with a scenario and a list of symptoms. My takeaway from this video is that DLB more commonly presents with hallucinations and REM compared to PD, is that right?
