I'm guilty for not being clingy to people. hahaha! I don't communicate with my friends for a couple months but that doesn't mean i wont be there if they need me. they can contact me anytime and i also valued our friendship. My friends always complain why they are always the one to chat, call or visit me. Their intro when they chat me is "Hey are you still alive?"...hahahaha!

I think the problem these days is people get into relationships and friendships with an agenda and they want others to fit with them - Rather than making friends with the simple joy of discovering each other, and just getting to know somebody else. They have an end goal in mind and that adds to the worry because they already place an expectation on somebody else they don't even know. I grew up in mixed schools and in church too, so I can relate with the folks in the podcast. But I can also suggest - start by befriending people who have healthy relationships with mixed gender friends. Then from there, have an open mind, learn from one another. Put yourself in an environment where you can grow and you'll find life a lot easier when you have people supporting you.

You're not going to click with everybody. But at the same time, you will also know who you don't click with. And that helps to ease the worry. Recognize that everyone is different. Relate to each person individually as a unique individual, not by gender.
