2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.

4 So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?

5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. . . .

11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?

12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.

The angel was not surprised that Zechariah did not know a mystery before he was shown. This questioning format is used through the entire book. It's used by God, Yeshua as well throughout much of the bible. Even from the beginning God asked Adam, "Where are you"? Questioning is done for many reasons but not necessarily because Angel nor God are surprised.

They signifed the end of law and promise of grace, and heralded the advent of the Messiah, Zechariah 14, and the conclusion of the world system, and the establishment of the Millennium reign and the final judgment, and the new heaven and earth- Isaiah 65, Revelation chapters 19-21; Isaiah 66:24; Lastly- the rewards Revelation 22.
The Lord never leaves any thing hanging. He always performs and perfects His purposes and promises. He is Faithful and True, He has exalted His word above all His name, so none of His word will go back to Him void! He is God All by Himself, as some would say! All glory and praises to His Holy name! Amen!
Galatians 4:29-30! It's always been like this right from the beginning, right from the garden, then Genesis chapters 6, 14:17-24; 21:9-10- Jacob and Esau; Pharez and Zerah; Pharaoh/Moses; David/Absalom; Jezebel, Athaliah, Haman, Herod, Hitler, Antichrist/false prophet.
This has to play out till the end for all to know, without a shadow of doubt, that God rules in the midst of the heathen, the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell in them, and that He is Lord of all!

Wrong! They are the Jewish and Gentile believes that make up the Body of Christ. The One New Man in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:15 ….that in Himself He might make the two into ONE NEW MAN.

The two olive trees in Zachariah 4 vision, represents the Father and the Son (and we can say as well both are the two witnesses, the proof in Revelation 11 read John 8:18), the two golden pipes represents the two covering Cherubims that they are always in the presence of God in the Heavenly Sanctuary, the proof read Exodus 25:18, and you may read as well Ezekiel 28:14 Lucifer was a covering Cherub before he sin against God Jehovah of the Universe, Lucifer was replaced by Gabriel; the oil that is extracted from the two olive trees and runs through the golden pipes is the Holy Spirit of God Himself, that's why God sent a message to Zerubbabel in verse 6: "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts". God gave the vision to Zachariah how His Spirit is giving to His people, from the Son at the right and from the Father at the left ( read Hebrews 10:12), to His two anointed ones, the cherubims, they deposit the oil in a vase on top of the candlestick (the vase are the prophets, Apostles, ministers; the seven golden pipes the angel of the church (local churches teachers, pastors, ministers); 7 lamps equal to churches. Resume, the oil (Holy Spirit) comes from the two olives (Father and Son), flows from the golden pipes (Cherubims) to the bowl (apostles, prophets, ministers), then from the bowl to the seven golden pipes (local church minister, pastor, teachers), from the pipes to the seven lamps ( local church). God blesses all His people with His Glory in this gospel order.
