It's like hearing this album again for the first time.
"Wheels of Confusion" has to be the "sludgiest" metal tune.
I fricken love this album...played it a thousand times.

Vol 4 was the very first album I bought, in autumn of 1972. I wore the grooves off that album. Now over 50 years later hearing these different takes of cherished and iconic songs is a revelation.

The despair in Wheels of Confusion/Straightener. One doesn't just write this on paper. It has to be experienced

It's the First Sabbath album I listened to when It came out. I was 14 and I saw them in concert in my hometown (Bologna, Italy) for that tour. Great Memories !!

Thank you so much for posting! I am a Black Sabbath fan since I was a child, during the 70's. I played the Pop Giants Vol. 9 - Collection thousands of times during the 70's, and during the 80's: Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master Of Reality, Volume 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. I bought all albums with Ozzy, Dio in vynil, then in CD. I have most of them in vynil and CD, and saw the band live with Ronnie James Dio on vocals in 1992. Great memories!!!

There is nothing like jamming out on this on an 8 track qaudrophonic car stereo in a 1969 Ford Mach 1 cruising down the highway doing 150 mph. Unless you have done it, you dont know what it was like back then...

This is proof of how Ozzy sounded without overdubbing in the studio. Just like they did to Greg on the Brady Bunch with his Johnny Bravo

Sabbath is the best band of all time, and this is the best album by the best band of all time. Simply sinister, even after 50 years. I've heard it three hundred million times and I can't get enough! Such an absurdly beautiful rhythmic session! I've never heard this version of "Snowblind" without the guitar solo. I'm here in Brazil almost having an orgasm once again with Sabbath. It's without a doubt the soundtrack of my life.
