Hug John for us. ‘And when she dies she says she’ll catch some blackbird’s wing, and she will fly away to heaven, come some sweet Blue Bonnet spring’ - RIP Nanci Griffith

Nanci Griffith is one of the reasons why I absolutely despise mainstream radio. They have never gave her music any attention.

If everyone would listen to and appreciate the quality of music, the world would be a better place.

Now at the age of 73, and now all alone, i came across John Prine music, a few years ago, and never stopped listening to it since. If you listen to every word in his songs, it will bring back in your memory things that has happen in your life.. Specially this song, Nanci version is beautiful, i am John would agree, if he was still with us... RIP the both of them, both sadly missed..

Now our world is filled with zeroes
A bleak and melancholy gray.
We lost one of our singing heroes
Nanci Griffith passed away.

As an English man, Nanci is one of the reasons why I so love America. I’d never heard of her until last year. Her music epitomises the spirit of her beautiful homeland.

I imagine John Prine greeted her with a tuned guitar, and they immediately got down to business:)

RIP Nanci, a sublime talent, she has a huge following in Ireland thanks to two wonderful larger than life figures who also are no longer with us, Philip Donnelly and John Prine. RIP you three greats, be together in music and song, although it's far far too early for the gorgeous Nanci to have to leave us mourning her . 💚❤️☘️☘️☘️🇮🇪

Texas put a little something special in her and she told everyone about it. The most talented singer song writer and guitarist hands down that I ever seen in person. Incredible talent and beautiful in person too. After seeing her in concert it’s like you let the world go away for a week or two. Incredible performer.
