A true man is the one who is not embarrassed by his own tears, but wears them with pride. They tell the world how much those people, now gone, touched him. Never hide your tears. Let everyone around you see them and honor you for being brave enough to cry.

I was given the honor of escorting my son home. It was the most humbling experience of my life. Watching people my son has never met stop and pay respect for his sacrifice gave me the strength to get through it.

At 18 years of age, My Father, Don Siler, was severely wounded on Iwo Jima. A Navy corpsman found him in the dead pile. He raised 5 kids. On July 28, 2005, 5 days after his 79th birthday he died completely paralyzed partially due to the injures he received. On July 29, one day after he died, Social Security reached into his bank account and pulls out that month’s payment he received at the first of July. My mom had to scramble to find the means to make payments. I love my country but despise bureaucrats who have zero understanding and empathy of what men and women had to go through to keep this country free.

... i know this feeling all too well. When I was an Airman, I was asked to be a part of quite a few flag ceremonies as a new active Airman. I had the PRIVILEGE to be apart of folding the flag as well as receiving my fellow brother and sister in arms while saluting them as they passed by in front of me off of a C-17 working on the flight-line. I will carry them with me and ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL for their sacrifice for my freedom as well as for others. I salute you all my fallen comrades.

Life sucks sometimes.
But life will gets better in time.
I’ve lost a lot of loved ones.
Twin brother, dad, mom, grandma all my uncles, cousins and friends.
But God has given me peace.
It’s been years since I can laugh again.
But I know the hurt and I know life gets better just keep on pushing and put God first.
Stay blessed fam

These heroes are the backbone of this nation, our military, and our first responders should never be forgotten. And should have every service that we have available to them for the rest of their journey on this earth. And for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their immediate families should have our care and help. FOR THOSE WHO GAVE ALL, WE SHOULD GIVE THOSE THEY LEAVE BEHIND BEHIND ALL THAT WE CAN.
