The Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation - or ERT (ΕΡΤ) - is Greece's public radio and television broadcaster, founded in 1938 and then entered into TV broadcasts on 23 February 1966. But, the network took a downright blow on 11 June 2013, when ERT was forced to be shut down following a government decision; the closure had affected much of 2,500 employees working at the network, resulting in widespread condemnation.

Taking over all of the network's initial frequencies was a new state-owned network called New Hellenic Radio, Internet and Television (NERIT), which was launched in 2014. But before that, a temporary state TV station known as Dimosia Tileorasi (Public Television) went on-air at the same TV frequencies of ERT, and it was launched on 10 July 2013 - only a month after ERT's closure. In 2015, the Greek government - by then under Alexis Tsipras as Prime Minister - had once again re-opened ERT, and the network started broadcasting again in June that same year, thus replacing NERIT.

"ERT Eideseis (News)" is the primary news bulletin of ERT, but Greek viewers may be aware that the newscast's famed soundtrack - being introduced around 1982 - was composed by none other than Vangelis, an Oscar-winning Greek composer who is among one of the most renowned figures in electronic music, and is well-known for composing scores to movies such as "Chariots of Fire", "Blade Runner", and "1492: Conquest of Paradise".

This Vangelis opening/closing music sounds very like to his theme "Kinematic" from the OST "Antarctica" (1983), with a touch of the "End Titles" from his OST for "Blade Runner" (1982).

0:30 I already found the intro theme impactful enough, but I didn't imagine that the original outro theme would be even more so!
