I knew Israel was nuclear capable at this time because their typical arrogance notched up after firing on a US Naval vessel off their coast, killing several US personnel around 1967. The typical shallow, insincere apology caused me to believe their "Nike's" were pumped up even higher than they had previously been. Even the USSR's policy towards Israel turned more cautious. It's almost as if the Soviets became cautious knowing if they had attacked Israel, the probability of getting their nose bloodied had increased to the point where any future Soviet attack on Israel would have looked so over-the-top, it could cause this type of situation to get out of everyone's control, except Israels. It remains to be seen how well Israel could handle such a weapon in such close quarters. Now, what would you do if you were one of Israel's neighbors?
