This is a story about the bad and the brave and how an investigator on a dark journey exposes shocking secrets at the heart of the South African National Defence Force. It’s a story that starts on the Cape coast, and takes him from Simonstown in the Western Cape to Phalaborwa in the North and then to a military base in South Africa’s capital city, Pretoria. While still unresolved, the investigation exposes a grouping of elite soldiers and SANDF officials who appear to operate above the law, engaging in illegal campaigns involving torture, politics, spycraft and even murder.

South Africans need to be deeply indebted to our amazing and courageous investigative journalists. Without them, we would have long ago reached a point of absolutely no return.

I’ll happily rewatch this story from beginning to end because this type of journalism keeps people accountable 😊

What I love about Carte Blanch is that it is non racial, non biased, quality and patriotic journalism.

“If the ANC does to you what the apartheid government did to you, then you must do to the ANC what you did to the apartheid government”. 2024 Needs to be recorded as the year of change.

I love this YouTube channel; the journalists are doing amazing work. But today after watching this episode I kinda fear for their safety. We live in a dangerous country.

Top tier journalism. Really disappointed in the SANDF. I've always accociated corruption to the SAPS to a certan extent but I have been a bit ignorant about the SANDF.SO disappointed to see how things really are but I guess its to be expected. R.I.P to the SAPS investigator who was proboably asking too many questions😪

Like all organisations that fall under the direct control of the ANC government, the SANDF has been captured, and ANC cadres have been deployed into senior positions. The SANDF has the highest number of generals per members of any defence force in the world, with over 400 generals or equivalent level staff a grossly disproportionate number. Most of these political deployees are ANC cadres. As we approach an election year, we need to be mindful of this situation. My concern is that if the ANC were to lose power through the democratic process, they may seek to retain power through their political control of the military. You might think this is far fetched, but just remember that the ANC top 7 have all been and remain the subjects of investigation into very serious allegations of corruption and criminality, which they have hindered through their influence over the police force and judiciary. Don't believe that? Well what has become of the Zondo commission report recommendations?

But with the current level of crime in the country, I kinda think that normal policing will never be able to handle the organized crime cartel operating in our country. This is the only way to go, as long as one is not involved in any criminality one has nothing to worry about. So far I only hear about them going after those involved in criminality except the hawks investigator.

Strange how people are misinterpretating counter terrorism operations as kidnappings? And the Lady R was delivering 7.62, used by SA Special Forces in their AKMs in Mozambique, so it makes sense that they were at the collection point of ammunition THEY WOULD BE USING. I will say that if the other story is true, everyone responsible must be held liable, I just find it strange that now when there's an issue like "assassinations" the SASF operators are regarded as elite, but as soon as they are working in combat zones they "Aren't what they used to be".

Big Up to special forces, there is a reason why they're called special forces is to deal with extreme matters such funding ISIS group which are a threat to RSA's sovereignty and stealing military grades weapons . criminals have turned this country into their playing field, one enters a military base and steals the weapons then you expect the defense force to carry on as if nothing happened, an apple does not fall far from a tree and the next thing we cry about people who get killed by guns on the streets daily and we blame the state security for not doing their work and when they do still they get blamed. Must they massage a suspect? stop been weak and manipulated so easily South Africans. let the people who are trained to protect this country do their work.

These journalists are always the first to complain when our security forces don't do anything, but when they do they go on to publicly expose their identities. They even said it themselves a member of ISIS on the CIA watch list, yet they complain when action is taken. And when last did we ever hear of a Islamic terrorist attack on South African soil, literary never, but yet we live in a continent filled with such attacks, yet we still complain.

And what did they expect the military to do when someone walks into a military base and steals their weapons for criminal activities, and yet we complain when to government fails to stop the movement of illegal firearms in the country.

And most importantly there is no evidence, just journalistic speculations. But I'm not surprised journalists in this country only care but the negatives, and making profit from fictional stories.
