I have personally used LEAPS a lot. Especially for high probable trades close to the money. Joel Greenblatt even suggested using LEAPS in his book “you can be a stock market genius”.

Like you channel and love the guys at tasty live! I have been contemplating opening a tasty account for SPX and futures options. I do mostly short IC on SPY and some QQQ. I have dabbled with leaps, the wheel, broken wing butterfly, and Jade lizards.

If the stock price drops, your leaps are having loss as well although the call you sold is profitting lesser than the longer leaps, right?

How do you manage the short call, keep rinse and repeat of rolling out and up while keeping the longer leaps to expiration ?

Hi Darren, Great information. Few questions - 1. How do you decide the best strike price for the deep in the money long call? I guess you would use some greeks like Theta for that?
If the stock price continously drops, I guess you will lose the value of the long call and overall lose money from the entire arrangement. What could you in that case?

I wanted to do leaps in order to be able to do PMCC on my retirement account but TD Ameritrade and Robinhood do not grant level 3 option on IRAs.
