The Gosford Glyphs - Ancient Egyptian Connection to Australia, or Elaborate Hoax? NEW EVIDENCE!

preview_player
Показать описание
UnchartedX investigation into the Gosford Glyphs, encompassing recent research that draws some startling new conclusions as to the authenticity of the site, and challenges all previous claims on both sides of the argument. Is it truly connection between sea-faring ancient Egpytians and a pre-colonial Australia, or simply a long running hoax?

The site known as the Gosford Glyphs is a collection of some roughly 300 ancient Egyptian Heiroglyphs carved into a sandstone canyon, near the township of Gosford on the central coast of New South Wales, Australia. Since the site was first discovered in the 1970's it's been surrounded by controversy and claims, but recent new research is shining a light on the need for a re-evaluation of this interesting and beautiful place deep in the Australian bush.

Hi All - watching my footage back again it seems clear to me that the large Anubis carving really isn't the same as the other glyphs on the site. It's much larger, the carving looks shallower and not as dark, and I think this is definitely a more modern addition. As I said in the video, it doesn't require any academic knowledge for this, you're just drawing/carving something. I know about the first hand accounts of seeing people in the area, and about the other carvings in the general Kairong area, which were likely done by soliders from WW1 who carved a pyramid, and a sphinx. Again, just artwork, not writing. None of that has anything to do with the complexity and significance of the actual hieroglyphic carvings, in my opinion. Its just random artwork that may well have been inspired by the older glyphs, and none it requires the extremely deep and difficult academic knowledge of an ancient and dead language to do. I'm presenting evidence that shows at least part of these carvings appear to be authentic ancient egyptian script, which all the accounts of 'hoaxes' need to address - it's just not a random collection of egyptian symbols. While it remains controversial, you have to consider all the known facts and decide what is the most plausible explanation. Personally I think the site should be protected, and would be worthy of a full archaeological exploration to see if there are indeed any human remains to be found - a single postshard or artifact would be worth the effort. I'm sure there are archaeological departments at universities that could take this on, where else in Australia do they have the chance for this type of dig? I hope this video stirs up some discussion about the site.

It’s so frustrating, I desperately try to bring videos like this to all my friends attentions but I’m laughed at and ridiculed, they won’t even give it a chance or watch it with a open mind, I’m instantly branded with a tin foil hat. It scares me how closed minded society is, my friends aren’t bad people but seemed so dumbed down to look at anything from a different angle sometimes, like I said so frustrating when that other angle actually makes more sense sometimes, I’ll never force anything onto anyone, so in the end I just go silent. Thank you for your videos and your channel. I find it all amazing and educational

The generosity of Yousef and Mo with their amazing depth of knowledge makes me remember that there are people at the high end of the human curve out there. Thank you, gentlemen; and as always to UnchartedX for an excellent video

On my fourth trip to Egypt in 2017, I had the distinct honor of spending two weeks with, among others, Yousef and Mohammed, on a guided tour unlike any other that I have been on or on which you will hear their evidentially sound presentations. The entire trip is an unforgettable experience, and that, unless you attend one of their tours, is nearly indescribable. I highly recommend them, and their other friends in the tour industry, when you want to visit the magnificent monuments throughout Upper and Lower Egypt. I love you guys (and Patricia!) and we will back for another tour some day.

I'm Australian, I have known about these glyphs for years. I never took it seriously until now. Very interesting.

Another great video,
I live about 45minutes from Gosford and didn't hear about this place until now.
My cousin is a qualified archeologist and I will ask her to acompany me to this site.
Keep up the great work.

What surprised me the most was that the carvings are found on the east coast of Australia, while Egypt is obviously to the west. You'd think they would navigate to the west of Australia. So I decided to look at a world map, and I found it's possible to navigate the coastline from Egypt to Indonesia. From there I believe it's possible to island hop to get to the northern tip of Australia via Papua New Guinea by sight, or probably with the help of local guides or fishermen who knew the waters in that area. This makes me conclude that the Egyptians (or any other ancient people) didn't even need to navigate the oceans to explore across the globe. All they needed to do was keep the coastlines in sight and occasionally talk to the locals to find out if there were islands nearby that could be interesting to visit. With this method they could have easily gotten to the Americas as well. Of course a trip like this may have taken years, but it's a reasonably safe way of travel and it would make mapping a lot easier too. Funny that an idiot like me can come to this conclusion applying everyday logic, but scolars still conjure up ridiculous reasons to deny the possibility that ancient nations traveled the globe and may have had contact with each other.

Ben: here's a fun one for you to research. It's known as Legend Rock, 10 miles north by northwest of Thermopolis, Wyoming. Near the southern end of the 'Spirit Trail' that begins in Yellowstone. 100's of fascinating petroglyphs that date back over 10, 000 years. Main site is open to the public, but there are 2 other adjacent sites. Probably the most interesting set of petroglyphs in North America that I have ever studied. Look into it. Bonus: the Taselli d' Anger in Alageria. Never been there, but it looks like a fun deep-dive. Keep up the great work. Patreon is your new friend. Cheers.

Thank you for taking the enormous amount of time it must have taken to create this episode.

Any civilization who can build monuments like the pyramids and had a grasp of astrophysics, could build boats capable of circumnavigating the Earth! and what about the mummies found with cocoa leaves buried with them? To me it proves they found their way to south America!

I just want to give a HUGE Thank You to Ben for his OUTSTANDING AND EXCELLENT work and numerous videos that he has given us all over the years. They are of IMMENSE QUALITY and are HIGHLY well researched and informative. I know that I personally have enjoyed them all immensely and have learnt a copious amount of which I had previously been either completely unaware or had only the briefest of knowledge about. Referring to this video in particular, and being a born and bred Australian, I had NEVER even heard of the Gosford Glyphs and am amazed that something along these lines and importance could be so little publicise either just here in Australia itself, let alone throughout the world. Anyhow. a HUGE shout out and THANK YOU again to Ben for ALL his EXCELLENT work and I hope that he is able to keep it up and to continue to give us more of thesr wonderful and highly informative videos. Thanks again

The writing style, with accurate angles but kind of crude completions, would indicate someone accustomed to writing on paper with brush or quill, or on wax tablets. A higher status sailor would have these skills; fast, skilled literacy but in accordance to their status as would be expected of a trader and keeper of common shipping records, especially in the 6th century B.C.
The story almost sounds like they were not only burying the lost but were preparing their for their own deaths, so they wouldn't be left "unshriven", as it were.
As for the date, you can date by patina and the type of lichen growing IN the lines. Not all lichen have the same growth rate. Not that this will necessarily prove the age of the glyphs but will prove whether they were hoaxed only a hundred years ago.

This is the best information I have ever seen about this topic, Ben! I became aware of these glyphs back in the early 1980's, but despite having grown up in Newcastle New South Wales I never managed to get to the site. Having lived through three massive weather events in Newcastle (1974, 2007 and 2014), I would wager that this poor Egyptian crew were the victims of a savage double East Coast low pressure system. If there was anything in the glyphs to indicate the time of year as the beginning of the southern hemisphere winter I would bet my house on it. In my mind there can be no doubt that the ancient Egyptians were excellent seafarers. How much more superior must have been the more ancient people who preceded the dynastic Egyptians?

As a seafarer myself, I can say that this is definitely a river boat. Due to the low freeboard, it will be swamped and/or capsize in a large swell. Maybe they had other boats, better equipped for ocean navigation. Christopher Columbus had a ship with a high freeboard deck, so that the openings where water can get in are much higher.

I am living an hour away from the glyphs but after seeing your video and some others, I decided to go there few days ago and see them, I am really convinced now it's real, make sense. I went there with a small group of people and with aborigines elders, 50m away there is a sacred site (also a portal) where we've been very privileged to participate to a ceremony, strange things happened to me when I was laying to the portal. I did some videos with all the glyphs; if you've missed some glyphs, let me know, I'll send them to you; I'll go back again, I feel emotional now about this sacred place. Thank you very much for your videos, you are opening many minds.

Ben, you need to try and get a 3D LASER scan of the rocks and glyphs to preserve them forever and allow for more detailed examination. Great video!!!!
