Let me start out by saying I like this interview with reporter Lawrence O'Donnell and Kim Janey. I like the fact that O'Donnell kept this interview real and did not dance around the issues. I would like to point out the following: 1. Communities such as Roxbury, Mattapan, and Dorchester have been neglected for many years. Tom Menino(who I have voted for and met personally) was a constant present in our communities. As a community activist as I meet people they speak highly about Menino( who is rightly described as the people's mayor). Sad to say many of these politicians have been elected time and time again and nothing is done to improve the lives of those especially in disadvantaged communities. 2. The Methadone Mile is a eye sore in Boston that must be addressed and not take a kick the can down the road approach which have been done over the years by many politicians who are currently in power, 3. There are still many inequities especially in poor communities and it has gotten worse instead of improving. 3. Many of the schools in the city is undeserved, under-equipped and and grossly lacking in proper science labs, libraries etc. While I am on this point of education(I am a trained teacher and tutor of many years), I read where one politician running for office wanting to abolish the exam requirement for high schoolers. When I read this I could not believe what I was reading. We as educators and other stakeholders know that America students over the years(pre-pandemic and even worse now) have been falling behind the rest of high school students in the world. Do we want, in terms of education, for this great city and country to be the laughing stock of the world. 4. Finally, I have met personally and voted for many of the politicians in the city of Boston. I have even joined their campaign but sad to say many of them occupy the office and has not anything for the city especially those in undeserved and disadvantaged communities. We need a new breed of politicans who will look out for the interest of the people rather than those who donate big money to their campaign or is connected to them in one way of the other. That time is now or many of them must step aside and allow those who wants to represent the people like Mr. Menino did his best to do when he served prior to his death.

She is awful. She handed this situation with the police Commissioner very badly. She thinks she's gaining points. God help us. If you can be so unjust and unfair right off the bat, that is not good.
