Well research! I think one option (if possible) is you can retire overseas. It’s much cheaper in some countries with great medical system. It costs much less to retire.

Everyone forget to factor in inflation. Even if you earn 7.9%, this is before you discount it by inflation. So, you earn closer to 5-6%

Hey Mate,
You don’t need $37, 000 in your super when you are 18, you just need that $4000 you have to grow to $37, 000 over the next 49.

Also, the people that do retire at 57 do so because they have assets outside super, I retired at 36 for example.

You have not taken into consideration the compound interest, and the fact that super only needs to make up part of your income, because you can still get the age pension.

Most people that retire in Australia will have the aged pension + super pension, others will have super pension + income from other investments + potentially draw down home equity.

What is the median for the age ranges? It’s more reflective of what people have.

I am 56. I think you should upsize your home to get max pension plus have max assets in cash that the govt allows a married couple (about 400k) However - I fear the govt will change the rules by the time I get to 67. Any thoughts?
