A velvet voice that brings back memories of the 60s - wonderful stuff! 👍

A song from my teen years. Something just now reminded me of the title and I had to play it and, for a couple of minutes, I returned to my mini skirt, stiletto heels and ponytail years. Now I feel sad for the spent years, which appear more like gossamer. 😢

It must have been nice at the time. But as we should know it's unrealistic with different forms of power and abuse that happens these days . Just keeping our heads level headed. Bless you all 🙏❤

I like Mark Wynter's or Del Shannon's versions rather than Steve Lawrence. It just seemed too pervy with the older Lawrence singing about a young (jail bait) version. I know it was supposed to be that he already had a girlfriend, but we all knew what was not being said too. There were a lot of songs that were like that, but I still prefer them to some of the crap they are churning out now!

I'm in my 70s now and these songs bring back fond memories. So glad they are being shared.

Slightly different lyrics: ...so go away little girl, YOU WON'T GET YOUR WAY little girl (Mark Wynter) vs. so go away little girl, CALL IT A DAY little girl (The Happenings). I wonder what's the original line and who rewrote it.
