Best gift I’ve ever received from guy friend about 22 years ago! Indispensable for any woman who lives on a farm or camping! Thanks Rod! 😆

The one hand opening, you did it wrong. The pliers come out with a flick of the wrist. There's no "let me see if I can do this with one hand". It just works.

Still got mine my nephew gave me from his deployment in Afghanistan. Wear it every day, love it. Hate the wide angle of the Leatherman. Also it's looseness is a big plus for me, easy to deploy. It's just the right size not too big and it's not my primary knife blade. It's a great supplement to an EDC folder. This tool has got a bad rap for some reason.

I've had mine for 12 years. Invaluable.

This video was made at the end of 2012. I just bought the black oxide MP600 yesterday and I love it!! This tool is still going strong, even after all these years, and you're right it is one of the best multi-tools!!! A legendary tool indeed.

I use to have one of these back when I was living with a friend in the army

To open the pliers, press the buttons on the side and give the handle a slight shake down and let gravity pull the handle down. Easy, fast and looks cool 🤙

When I deployed my battalion had been issued this particular multi-tool. After about a month I (along with over 50% of my battalion) dumped these and bought Leatherman tools. The pliers twisted (in many cases snapped clean off). The various acc tools also twisted and/or broke off during normal use. In recent years I've purchased many other Gerbers to the same ends. Since my deployment the only multi-tool I've had luck with is the same Leatherman I've carried since buying it in Iraq almost ten years ago.

I got my mp600 black in 2001 and I’ve been issued atleast 2 without cutters and probably 5-6 with. I always liked the standard better than with the cutters. Gave all away to my soldiers over the years but I always kept my original. Gerber will replace anything on it for life. They good folks

Back in 2002 when i was working with the Air force Combat Arms and Maintainance for Noble Eagle they issued me this knifle which i was very greatful. The Army or Army Guard would never do this for their soldiers, we have to get it at the PX.I used it when i was in Iraq and it was very practical thing to have in everything that i did.Thank you US Air Force!I still have mines...

You can make the pliers come out kne handed and yes they will cut through barbed wire. We used this exact model in the US Army 2014-2017. I was artillery and these always came in handy especially for 105mm ammo crates 😊

One great trick that helped me open mine brand new. I flung it downward holding it flat (horizontal).

I had no clue how to open it... I had to look at this video

This is the best multi tool out there. I have had one since the 90s while i was an army paratrooper. The other multi tools are junk.

Very nice indeed, I have been looking at one of these, except I am going to get the Blunt Nose version in black.

Glad to be this videos 500th like, just got this and wondered what the locking slides were for. Just never had fully opened anything into the locked position. Great video.

found one of these on the side of the road "in the sheath" the sheath has 2 separations in the belt loop and a plastic insert so i put on new velcro and stuck it right to my pack with moly webbing the plastic piece has the push clip on the bottom so i sent it up through the bottom of the pack webbing then the middle of the sheath and the top of the pack then pulled it all the way through and back down through all 3 parts and it feels like it was made as part of the pack
