My Undergrad Honors Thesis (Story Time)

My undergrad psychology honors thesis was my way of integrating my passion for dance, my Latinx culture, and my interest in psychology into one big project. I chose to examine the feasibility and acceptability of Salsa dancing for individuals with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder.

It was really interesting hearing about your honors thesis! I'm just about to submit the first draft of my thesis proposal on Thursday and I'm pretty nervous. I also took something that was personal to me and made it into a project since there hasn't been a lot of research on it already (multiracial identity and microaggressions within the family).

I have some more advice for people who are thinking of starting an honors thesis as someone who's a couple months into the process: Make sure you are prepared for how independent this experience will be, but also don't be afraid to ask for help from your adviser!
