THANK YOU!!! I have a terriable that not even the Geek squad could fix. .Facebook kept saying there were sending a 6 digit code but there was only 5 digits. I am now going to do what you suggested.. Again thank you so much. I think it is a shame that Facebook doesn't care enough about their subscribers to give them help.

I was having the same issue...so what i did was i didn't requested for the code for 4-5 days and after 4-5 days when i requested for the code that code worked...so you guys can also give it a try

My problem is that it sends the same code to my email, and when I put it in it says that I have put it too many codes and that I should try later and repeat :( i need help… I’ve been having issues for a month now and I just wanna get the account back…

What do you do if your account is hacked, and you get a 6 digit account security code to reset your pw, but they keep telling you the number you entered doesn’t match, and you try many times with the correct number. There is no way to contact facebook

Im getting the code but every time I put it in it just says unknown error and every time I resend for a new code it’s the same one coming through every single time.
Once every few days it will let me get as far as changing the password but again unknown error! very frustrating and really worried I won’t ever get back on!
I just wish there was someone you could physically talk to to help reset your password for you. if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated

I was getting the code and now I’m not anymore. On my phone I managed to get into my account. I went to settings to change my password…but an alert pops up stating “action not allowed at this time, you’ll need to be active on this device for a while since you don’t normally use this device”

My device is the only device on my account. I removed 2 others that were most likely hackers. But why can’t I change my password? And anything I try to do requires me to sign in and I can’t do that because the hackers changed my passwords.

I’m having that same problem! My account was hacked yesterday & the person who hack my account changed my email address so now I can’t login my account! It’s frustrating every time I try to reset my password Facebook sends me code but it don’t work, then I’ll try again a few hours later it still doesn’t work it just sends the same code. Tried to reset the password with my ID, Facebook send me a link to reset my password but THE DAMN LINK DOESN’T WORK AT ALL ! It’s so frustrating can someone please help me get my account back ASAP !

It doesnt work for me! I get the code sent each time I request. But even before I can enter the code fb says Ive entered too many codes (highlighted in red). I waited nearly 2 days to try again, then it said unknown error
