The last time we put a bunch of compact SUVs together, the Renault Kiger stood out with the value it offered at its price. But in the last couple of years, things have moved on quite a bit. So how do the newer, more premium offerings in this segment, the Mahindra XUV 3XO and Kia Sonet, both recently updated, stand out in this segment?

In case you are left wondering, a Tata Nexon was requested to be featured in this test but Overdrive didn’t receive a response from Tata Motors by the time of shooting.

In this test, we take an indepth look at the practicality, features, interior space and ambience and driving characteristics of the top turbo-petrol automatic versions of the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet and Renault Kiger. Also watch till the know to know the real-world mileage and performance figures of these compact SUVs. We’ve also picked a winner based on our scoring system that should make sense of all of these factors.

The XUV 3XO, a mid-life update to the XUV300, is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol that makes 130PS and 230 Nm(250 Nm on overboost), the Sonet makes 120Ps and 172 Nm and the Kiger makes 100PS and 152 Nm. In this test, the Mahindra uses a six-speed torque converter, the Kia a seven-speed DCT and the Renault a CVT

At 9:16, you guys mention Kiger not having LED lighting. However, the model that you are using has Renault Tri Octa LED setup.

I am very much much satisfied with my Kiger. I Have RXL version and its onroad price is 7.56lakh only. In this price I can't found any better option. Thankyou Kiger.😊

Mahindra copied rear design from Kiger with extended tail lights 😂😂😂😂 ...in styling 3XOscore will be 06 or 05 its the most ugliest car in this segment & Kiger is the pure Value for money car in this segment 😍

My tata altroz xza purchased on August 2023, 9 months old, 10k KM driven.
Parts replaced since day 1:
1. Front viper blade and stalk
2. Fuel filler cap assembly
3. Infotainment screen base border plastic
4. Right B pillar trim
5. Rear parcel tray
6. Horn
7. Rear ac vent slider
8. Fuse box plastic panel
9. Weilding on C pillar roof joint internally.
10. Rubber insulation of rear right door.

Still getting rattle and squeaks from left B pillar and dashboard on concrete roads of pune.
Can this be assumed as a unfinished product and based on this put a case in consumer court for selling me an unfinished/defective product?

Oh.. i forgot. I need money to fight with any judiciary system in India. I am not that rich. I will get used to the issues and believe that i am a truck driver.

Ok let me tell you my genuine review about kiger
Well driving KIGER TURBO CVT
and let me tell you dear
This car is best
Best in this price segment no body can beat till yet
As I compare with all sub-suv in 12 lac with offers I got in very less price,
This car is fun to drive
Pick up, avarage, looks, features everything is perfect in my opinion.
There are some minor issues which can avoid and can we treatable.❤️

Very well packaged in-detail comparison with no bells and whistles. It will be more of a comparison between CVT, DCT & TC which is really a good indicator for prospective buyers looking for a pure automatic transmission. I own a Kiger Turbo CVT and I do agree with the findings here (both good and bad) and personally went with the CVT transmission as the deciding factor. One thing I can proudly say with all the niggles and complaints that I have with Kiger (and have done Venue DCT long drive and test driven TC models as well) is that the CVT transmission is the smoothest of the lot which you can only experience once you have driven it!

has anyone noticed or is it just me? He just said "at 385 litres the smallest boot of the three cars is of the sonet's" but 3XO was right next to him

u have mentioned kiger has auto wipers and powered seats!!!! its a big mistake kiger doesnt offer it just check it once even the rxz turbo doesnt have them

Y'all need to start showing 4 cylinder diesel models of brands. Not all buy the 3 cylinder petrol ones. Judging a 4 cylinder diesel based on a model's 3 cylinder review is difficult
