You talk about students who learn via the eLearning process having "met the standard". and that's that!!! That is all very well, but it is even more important that a student "retains and maintains the standard". For example, I recently took an Ocean Diver in the water. Prior to the dive I conducted a briefing and went through hand signals. This Ocean Diver (student) did not have a clue about most of the signals, particularly the more important signals, such as "out of air", "I am breathless" and "emergency distress, immediate assistance required". It should be remembered that an Instructor could be endangering him/herself by diving with new divers who do not "maintain the standard".

I am all in favour of the further use and recognition of elearning. One of the key differences between more experienced and new instructors is in timekeeping while delivering lessons. Knowing when to keep to the essential, when to expand, or simply not making it sound like you are merely reading the slides aloud. Bit of a shame qualified instructors can not have access to the elearning videos. Totally understand the extra cost of hosting an learning platform, but the "voiced over" slides, I am pretty sure, would have been a nice benchmark. With 2025 IFCs reduced to a single day, it could have been a further reference and development tool.

The current BSAC Manual for intermediate trimix rebreather is very weak on gas planning: gas density implications, PO2 matching when bailing out to OC and the effect the breathed loop has on the resulting O2 and diluent gases (gas fractions and PPs). At the very least it needs updating with both of the Mike Rowley articles included in Diver Magazine. THIS IS WAY OVERDUE and as a BSAC AI qualified to TDI MODII RB trimix - I'm unmotivated to recommend the course because of it...
